MC: Remember.

[Officially switching to Second Person.]

[Comments Closed.]

It's hard for you to concentrate, but things are slowly coming back. It had been a normal Saturday night, hanging out with a couple of friends before coming home exhausted. Your parents hadn't even given you a hard time about staying out late, allowing you a quiet entrance to your room before you ultimately passed out. You had slipped into more casual wear for sleeping and settled into your comforter happily before a dreaded noise disturbed your peace. Looking back at how the events yesterday had unfolded, you almost wish you hadn't answered the phone.

"Thank god you picked up!" Your operator exclaimed as soon as you pressed the receive button. You didn't like where that was going, especially the fact that they were calling you so late at night.
"Yeah, whatever. What's going on?"
"We've got a case at Union Park. Another Kasha showed up. There was a biker accident and someone was killed, but when the guy responsible tried calling the police, it came outta nowhere and mauled the crowd. Clean up crews are on the way, but you have to take care of the beast before then."
"...Got it."

You flipped the phone closed hurriedly in case the informant on the other side tried giving you anymore sappy pep-talks. You hated those almost as much as you hated missing sleep. But duty called, and you were obliged to reply. Slipping on a shirt and stepping into the jeans you are currently wearing, you cracked open your bedroom window and dropped two stories into your backyard, glancing around worriedly in case someone saw. Of course, nobody was sulking outside at 11 at night, so you were safe.

The run to Union Park had been shorter than your last assignment. It was only a mile and a half from your house; easier than the 6 you had gone the other day for Central Station. But regardless, the scene upon your arrival was almost exactly the same as the previous.

A large demon was chasing a bloodied man around in the grass of the park. He was screaming clearly enough that even you could hear him from a distance away, causing your eyes to droop irritably. I really want to go to sleep, you had thought, pulling up a mask to cover your nose and mouth while flipping your hood to conceal the rest of your face.

The fight had been noteworthy. Albeit being a lower-class demon, about C or D you guessed, it put up a good spirit. Not that it mattered, with you being of easily S rank or higher. The only reason you had been so easily scarred was the fact that you were tired and not all that threatened, playing with the poor thing more than anything. The cat-snake had no chance from the moment it locked its iridescent eyes on you, abandoning its other prey. Man, it should've just minded its own damn business. You hated hurting animals, even if they were of the demonic kind.

By the time you got home and reported your success to your operator, it was 3 in the morning. Your parents were sound asleep, naive to your expedition in the dead of night, eliciting jealousy from your sleep-deprived self. Your tattered shirt was of little use by that point, charred, soiled and ripped, so you threw that away brashly before collapsing into bed, not even remembering that you were going to smear blood all over the place. You were bruised from the whipping of the demon's tails, the burns from its rough scales scraping against your skin.

It wasn't a wonder why you were hurt so bad. But you were still stuck on how to explain all of these things to your parents. After all, the last one had been the excuse of getting into a fight with some jerks at school. These... would be a little harder to cover up.

Faintly, from your position in front of your bathroom mirror, you can hear a voice drifting upstairs from the kitchen. You don't dare open your door in fear that your father might be silently standing outside, waiting for you, so you decide to listen to what the voice is saying.

It's your name... isn't it?

What is your name?

    Zoolord Poopsmell: >_<

Try again asshole! Stupid voice messing stuff up.

    George McLawson: :D

Your name is George McLawson. Of course thats your name, and is would be stupid to think it was anything else. You are 15 years old, and have adopted a sort of kind attitude despite being a demon hunter guy. After all, what are demons but animals that are hungry and vicious for human blood and can go on homicidal rampages when not checked?

  2. MC: Remember (again).

    Your name is... ((Pick one))

    Samuel Harbor
    Colin (usually called Cole) McAllister
    Richard Candor

Whew, that was a relief. You were really worried for a second. Not remembering what happened last night was bad enough, but forgetting your own name - ! You must be more tired than you thought.

((Keep an eye out for more name suggestions from me :D ))

  3. Main Character: Use your brain power, don't forget your name. For you, that would suck. Especially after last night being foggy like that.

    Your name is Makenzee Flynn.

Nope wait, you don't remember your name right now, but you know its not near that girly. Well at least, for you. You clear that away then stand and think.

    Oh you remember something again.

    Your name is Damon Shard.

That sounds more manly. Maybe too mainly for someone like you, but you might as well stick with it before something like Sarah or Caitlin comes up.

  4. MC: Your name is Michael Aachen. How did you get this name, you wonder, peering into the mirror with tired eyes. Gradually, the truth comes out. Aachen from your German-Austrian heritage. Even now the people at school tease you when your father picks you up for his thick accent. He emigrated after the fall of the Berlin Wall and met your mother, who is of Taiwanese descent, in the city where you now live. Michael from the archangel Michael, who defeats Satan in Armageddon. Funny name considering what you do. Hopefully you can get a good night's sleep tomorrow.

  5. You ponder this dilemma, staring into the mirror. Gradually the pieces come back. Your last name is Aachen, from your father's Austrian ancestors. Even now people at school make fun of your father's thick accent when he picks you up. He came to the city where you live (the name is eluding you) after the fall of the Berlin Wall and met your Taiwanese mother. Your first name is Michael, after the archangel who will defeat Satan in the apocalypse. Funny considering you hunt demons. Hopefully more sleep will come tomorrow night.

  6. You have a few names. It comes with the life style. Your friends at school simply refer to you as Drowsy. You got stuck with that when you fell asleep almost every period for a week. There's Phillip Colin for when the authorities get nosy (Real original). Your favorite is Tozen. But that's just for the ones who know what you really do. Then there's the one on your birth certificate. The one your parents seem so fond of. Simon? No. Scott? Nah can't be... Seth! That's it!... "Seth? Seth what's taking you? Your friend is outside." Shit! What time is it?

  7. The velvety voice drifts up to your ears, making your own name sound foreign to your ears. "...Laerza has been doing well lately..." As you listen it dawns on you that your name was not being called, but you were instead the object of the downstairs conversation. You flinch at the sound of your given nomenclature. It was so... feminine. Upon reflection, it could barely be considered human. However, when you live the life of a demonic being you suppose that's to be expected. Generally, you to go by Kei, your middle name. Only a select few make it a practice to call you Learza. With this knowledge, you tune back into the conversation downstairs. It is difficult to hear, but if you aren't mistaken the speaker is attempting to convince your father to apprentice you to her. "Mr. Mortair..."
